A Nigerian Senator arraigned for exam malpractice

The Nigerian  on Wednesday arraigned Senator Ademola Adeleke, and four others, on charges of examination malpractices in a Federal High Court in Abuja

.The five accused persons are being tried for committing the offence of examination malpractices by  registering Adeleke and another Sikiru Adeleke, as students of Ojo-Aro Community Grammar School, in Ojo-Aro in Osun State, for the National Examination Council’s June/July 2017 Senior School Certificate Examination in February 2017.

Other defendants in the case are  the principal of Ojo-Aro Community Grammar School, Alhaji Aregbesola Muftau; the registrar of the school, Gbadamosi Ojo; and a teacher in the school, Dare Samuel Olutope..

Three of the accused persons  including  Sentaor Adeleke were granted bail while the 4th and fifth accused persons were remanded in prison for failure to file their bail application.

The Senator was granted bail on self recognizance and was directed by the court to deposit his passport with the registrar of the court with an order not to travel out of the country without the permission of the court.

The matter has been adjourned to December 17, 18 and 19 for the commencement of trial.
