Jose Mourinho faces a huge debt over hotel bill .

Following his Manchester United sacking he looks set to move out of the Lowry Hotel – after spending 895 days in the £800 a night Riverside Suite.

Presuming he paid full market rates for his room, it means he’s racked up a staggering £716,000 tab – and that’s if he’s not been dipping into the mini-bar.

Jose never moved into his own place while manager at Old Trafford, preferring instead to stay in the high-end Salford hotel, reportedly moving in on July 6, 2016.

It led rival fans to jokingly compare Mourniho to Alan Partridge for living long-term in a hotel – but The Lowry is a world away from the Linton Travel Tavern.

The ex-Reds boss’s suite included a spacious living room area and kitchen, and floor to ceiling windows with views over the River Irwell Chapel Street.

Speaking in May Mourinho told Football Focus why he was happy staying in the hotel, while his family remained in London.

He told presenter Dan Walker: “The apartment is in The Lowry hotel but I live in a fantastic apartment and it would be difficult to find another one in fantastic conditions, so don’t feel sorry for me in relation to that.         Manchester Evening News
