Lagos State Government has denied imposing curfew in the state as reported in a national daily yesterday.
Throwing light on the said publication on Saturday, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, said the governor only said during a live press conference on Friday that if there is a need for curfew, government will not hesitate to impose it.
The governor, he said, dropped the idea of imposing a curfew in the state to allow the fumigation exercise of public space.
But that relying on experts’ advice, the governor said the disinfectant is non-toxic and no need for curfew now, noting that the exercise has commenced.
He said: “I am pleased to note that we have taken possession of over 200 disinfecting machines, and starting today, we will be disinfecting all major highways, bus stops, markets, parks and other public areas.
“For now, everything remains the way they are.”
