Former Speaker, Ghali Na’Abba is Dead Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’Abba, passed away in Abuja around 3am on Wednesday morning.

He was the 8th Speaker of the House of Representatives.Na’Abba was born on September 27, 1958 in Tudun Wada, Kano stateAccording to family sources, late Na’Abba battled with ailment for a long time before passing away.

He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he studied political science and graduated in 1979.

He has once been out of the country for medical treatment and placed under extreme care for some months before his recovery and return to Nigeria.

According to the Islamic rites, the remnants of the ex-speaker would finally be inhumed in Abuja today.

Late Na’Abba became a member of the Peoples Democratic Party and later became the party’s candidate for Kano Municipal Federal Constituency which he won during the April 1999 general elections.

He subsequently emerged Speaker of the House of Representatives after the political crisis that led to exit of the first Speaker of the Fourth Republic, Salisu Buhari.
