Prominent Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo, also referred to as Igboho, has refuted the claim made by certain Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu is to blame for the nation’s corruption.
After taking office on May 29, 2023, Tinubu declared in his inaugural speech that the subsidy would be eliminated, a move that drove up gas prices and contributed to economic inflation.
This is in light of the fact that the Buhari-led administration left out petroleum subsidy funding from the 2023 budget.Adeyemo stated, “Some people believe Tinubu is the one spoiling the country; it is not Tinubu,” on Friday during a visit to the monarch’s palace in Igboho town, Oyo State.
As I said that Buhari had nothing to offer the Yoruba people, I was calling for us to band together and break free from enslavement when he was in power.
“Let us split Nigeria and set ourselves free. Some said that what he is searching for is what he will eat. Tinubu received a spoiled Nigeria from Buhari. We are cursing Tinubu for the six months he served in office.
What action did he take?Igboho managed to flee from a Department of State Service agent’s lethal nighttime raid on his Ibadan home on July 1, 2021.
He and his spouse, Ropo, were subsequently taken into custody in the Benin Republic on July 19, while traveling to Germany. Nonetheless, Igboho was made available in October 2023.
About thirty months later, the Yoruba nation agitator traveled back to Nigeria to attend his mother’s funeral. His mother passed away on July 22, 2023.Igboho was greeted by an enormous crowd in his hometown of Oyo State, and in a video that has since gone viral on social media, he was seen sitting atop a car.
He said that Buahari had sent the security service to assassinate him because he was standing up for the rights of the Yoruba people, while addressing his supporters at the monarch’s palace.
“Buhari sent his soldiers and the DSS to arrest me in my home because I said that Yoruba people are not Fulani’s slaves,” the man stated. We are too strong for Fulani to subdue in our fatherland.
“Our mothers and fathers cannot be prevented from visiting their farms by Fulani. Fulani would never dare.
But this time, I am back with God’s authority and strength, not man’s. I employ the same force that God employed to form the cosmos.
