The Federal Road Safety Corps, Ondo State Command, said on Saturday that it has deployed 1,144 personnel in the state to ensure free movement and ensure road safety during the Yuletide period.

This was disclosed by The Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Ezekiel SonAllah, in am interview on Friday. He further stated that a total 588 regular and 556 special marshals have been positioned across the state to regulate road usage and reduce road crises during the yuletide period.

He added that the corps has deployed its personnel to accident-prone areas.

However, sector commander stated that FRSC is in a public-private partnership with private sector, security agencies and also transport unions to ensure that vehicles that may break down on the highways are quickly recovered to prevent road mishaps. SonAllah, therefore, called on drivers and the general public to obey traffic rules and regulations to prevent accidents, saying “Only the living can celebrate.”

“It’s mandatory for commercial drivers to install speed limit devices in their vehicles.“We will arrest any commercial driver found driving without speed limiters mounted on their vehicles because life has no duplicate.

“So, I implore all road users to be safety conscious at all times while using the highways“Moreover, road safety is everybody’s business. All hands must be on deck for us to ensure that there are no accidents on our roads,” he added.
