Olatoye Durosinmi, who has been promoted to AIG Zone 2, Lagos, gives way to CP Adedamola.

The new Akwa Ibom CP is a graduate of the University of Ibadan with a law degree (LL.B.) (Hons), the Nigeria Law School in Lagos with a BL, and the University of Lagos with a Master of Law (LLM).

In a statement released yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Odiko MacDon, of the Akwa Ibom Command, stated that CP Adedamola was appointed as a “Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on May 18, 1992, and has served in various capacities, including being Assistant Commissioner of Police, Police Mobile Force Office – FHQ Abuja…”

“Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, Oyo State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal and Investigations Department, Panti, Lagos, among others,” MacDon continued, mentioning Adedamola, who assumes the position of 32nd CP in Akwa Ibom.

He was acting Lagos State Commissioner of Police prior to his current appointment.

The new CP, he continued, had warned senior officers in the command to conduct themselves with professionalism during their first meeting, expressing his readiness to implement an open-door policy for enhanced policing.

The CP also promised to provide Akwa Ibomites with satisfactory police services, MacDon continued, “while soliciting the cooperation of all for a more peaceful and safe Akwa Ibom State.”
