Four people have been taken into custody by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly planning the kidnapping of Agnes Ogbeh.
Ogbeh, the alleged victim, and three additional individuals—Margarita Itodo, 25, Esther Anyanwu, 24, and Anthony Chinakwe, 24—were listed as suspects in the report.
Benjamin Hundeyin utilized a video of the fake kidnapping that was posted on his official X account on Friday to validate the arrests in a statement.
He gave an explanation, saying that Ogbeh, an Ondo State resident from Akure, had traveled to Lagos on March 19, 2024, where he was allegedly abducted.

He claimed that as part of a development that turned out to be phony, Agnes’ family in Akure received a video showing her and another person tied, gagged, and moaning with blood droplets surrounding them.Agnes’ release was demanded by the “kidnappers” for a sum of N5 million.
Detectives from the command began a careful and discrete investigation into the complaint as soon as they received it.Two more individuals and Agnes, the other woman in the video, were found living together in the hideout without restriction.
“More research showed that Margaret Itodo is a qualified makeup artist who was brought in to authenticate the video. “All four have made confessional statements and will be arraigned at the conclusion of the investigation,” the statement said.
