Taiwo and Kehinde Olasoji, a set of twins, and Nnaji Aroh and Funke Afolayan have been taken into custody by the Ekiti State police for receiving stolen goods and breaking and entering.

The twins were taken into custody on April 25 “while attempting to break a shop at Mathew Street, Odo-Ado, Ado Ekiti,” according to Mr. Adeniran Akinwale, Commissioner of Police, Ekiti Command.

In a statement released by Sunday Abutu, the Police Public Relations Officer, the CP stated that “the suspects confessed to the commission of the crime during interrogation.”

“They added that they were in charge of breaking into three stores in Agric Olope, Ado Ekiti’s Fayemi Market, taking two bags of rice, two bags of beans, and other valuables worth N936,750.The statement also stated, “Afolayan Funke and Nnaji Benignus Aroh, who the suspects claimed had been receiving stolen properties from them, were arrested following further investigation by the command’s Rapid Response Squad.”There will be appropriate arraignment for the suspects, according to the commissioner.One of the suspects, who is suspected of breaking into a store at the Ekiti airport on March 7 and stealing some iron rods, was paraded by the commissioner on March 25.

According to Akinwale, “the command’s Rapid Response Squad swung into action upon receiving the information and 18 lengths of 12mm iron rods valued N261,000 were found in the possession of the suspect arrested.””The suspect admitted to the crime during questioning and added that he had previously taken part in the theft of multiple iron rods from the site.

“The commissioner had pleaded with every resident to be alert, security conscious, and to report any suspicious activity to the closest police station.
